How to Post an Item for Sale on Hootinanny

Ready to sell something on Hootinanny? Whether it's a one-time item or you're launching a store, posting your first listing is fast and easy.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Log into Your Account

Make sure you're signed in. If you don't have an account yet, create one here.

2. Go to Your Seller Dashboard

After logging in, click "My Account" and select "Vendor Panel" or "Add Product" if you're already a vendor.

If you haven't selected a seller plan yet, you'll be prompted to choose one before continuing. Casual sellers can pick the One-Time Seller Plan (Free).

3. Create a New Listing

Click "Add Product" and fill out the listing form:

  • Product Name – Clear and descriptive
  • Description – Include details (condition, size, features, etc.)
  • Category – Choose the best fit (example: Tools > Chainsaws)
  • Price – Set your price (include tax if applicable)
  • Images – Upload clear, high-quality photos (max 5MB each)
  • Tags – Use relevant search tags (e.g., "oak firewood," "chainsaw," "local pickup")

4. Optional Settings

  • Quantity – If you're selling multiples
  • Fundraiser Support – Select a fundraiser if proceeds support a cause
  • Location – Confirm your county so locals can find your listing

5. Publish It!

Click Save & Publish. Your item will now appear in search results and category pages. If you're a new vendor, your account may go through a quick approval process.

Tips for Success

  • Use bright, uncluttered photos
  • Add relevant keywords to your title and description
  • Mention pickup/delivery options if needed
  • Share your listing on social media to get more eyes on it
