Local Sales (Cash in Hand):

0% Fee If your buyer pays you in cash or trades locally — you keep 100% of the sale.

We charge nothing for local, face-to-face deals. That’s how communities grow.

Online Sales (Paid Through Hootinanny):

4% Platform Impact Fee + Standard Credit Card Processing

Here’s how it breaks down:

• 4% Platform Fee – This helps us fund the platform, grow the network, and reward users through our Hoots system.
• Stripe Processing Fee – This is typically around 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction (Stripe’s standard).

You’ll see both fees when you complete a transaction online.

Why We Charge 4%

Big marketplaces often charge 10–20%+ and keep all the profit. We don’t.
